Moses is in the House
The image of Moses and other leaders of civilization and societies have been hanging
in the chamber for 65 years.
A special committee of five members of the House of Representatives and the
Architect of the Capitol approved the selection, and the reliefs were installed
when the House Chamber was remodeled from 1949--1950.
Prime Minister Netanyahu at the end of his speech quoted Moses from
The Book of Deuteronomy stating in Hebrew.
"Be strong and resolute, neither fear nor dread them"
The N I V reads
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for
the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
Deuteronomy 31:6
which were the leader's parting words to the Israelites before they entered the land
of Israel.
A shared friendship by the United States and Israel, two countries with a deep respect for timsless road of history.

Inspiring speech!
Patsy, my husband was just sitting here discussing this very thing...and yes, I knew this. Sadly, because I was at school, I did not see Bibi's speech. I have read the transcripts though...I like him. Just saying...--Blessings
I had no idea! It is so good to see Moses instead of some politician!
Thank you for sharing this, Patsy. You two have a good night.
Sad, isn't it, that I had to learn it from Bibi that the image of Moses graces the Congressional chamber. Many of our elected, replaceable "leaders" need to take this seriously and read God's Holy Word for guidance. That way they'll know what's in it away from the fog ... and such. ~:)
It was a good speech. Very sad how some of our leaders acted though. I stand with Israel!
Thanks for showing this, Patsy. I remember Bibi looked up toward it and mentioned the Moses. But it is my first time to see it here.
