Our garden center piece

This is what we choose to go in our garden.
Now if the plants will just grow.

Cloody and her Redbud Tree

The header is the big Red bud that Frank planted, I ask if I could use it and he said well let me think.
We went to visit Frank and Cloody yesterday in the village. Frank planted this when it was a baby stick. Charlene I saw you were at the library , I would have stopped to say hello but Gene was painting the front door and I couldn't get in.

Trivia Monday

Kate Smith first introduced Irving Berlin's song "God Bless America," on Armistice Day (now Veteran's Day) November 11, 1938, at the New York's World Fair. Berlin gave all royalties from the very popular song to the scouts. It became Kate Smith's signature song after "When the Moon Comes Over the Mountain."

Revive Us, Lord!

Oh, for the showers on the thirsty land!
Oh, for a mighty revival Oh, for a sanctified fearless band,
Ready to hail its arrival.
Selected
Revive us, Lord! Is zeal abating
While harvest fields are vast and white?
Revive us, Lord! The world is waiting;
Equip Thy Church to send the Light.
When naught were on to lean remaineth,
When strongholds crumble to the dust,
When nothings sure but God reigneth,
That, yes, that is the time to trust.

It is Cloisonne'

We planted in back of the house a Taylor's Perfection Camellia today. I just had to bring this one in the house.
It will mature to 8'x 6', cold hardiness 10"F-- Part Sun.
The little counter that holds the roll of stamps is cloisonne'. Enlarge the picture and see the fine work . I will have to ask at the post office if they carry the roll. Now I buy self sticking stamps.
Just think how many crimes will not be solved , because no one licked their stamp.

Talent and Energy

Let me be a little sweeter---
Make my life a bit completer,
By doing what I should do
Every minute of the day.
Let me toil without complaining,
Not a humble task disdaining.
Unknown

It is astounding that so much is actually accomplished in life when we reflect upon these age-old maxims:
Moment by moment
Step by step
One by one
Day by day
Little by little

We have a pair that come to our feeders and they call out to let me know they are there. I can go out and stand or sit close, they are not afraid. The Squirrels and birds have become my village friends now.

Humble

Be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud and giveth grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5 The world, I thought, belonged to me--
Goods, gold and people, land and sea--
Where'er I walked beneath God's sky
In those old days my word was " I. "

Years passed; there flashed my pathway near
The fragment of a vision dear;
My former word no more sufficed,
And what I said was --"I and Christ."

But, O, the more I looked on Him,
His glory grew, while mine grew dim,
I shrank so small, He towered so high,
All I dared say was --" Christ and I."

Years more the vision held its place
And looked me steadily in the face;
I speak now in humbler tone,
And what I say is ---"Christ alone."
