Lovely Day Today

Things in the flower  garden are moving in to their
last hurrah. The Fall plants are slowly coming in.

It is so nice and cool in the mornings now, sure
like this time of the year.

Thanks Racheld

You just got to love the advise Racheld over at Lawn Tea
gave me to tell  the Bennie about his new girlfriends.

"You should, break it to him gently that those ladies
are ALWAYS so stiff and formal they are NO FUN
at all to hang out with and are absolutely wooden
on the dance floor."
LOL!

I am about to get the binding done , ready to sew it on.
Anna has been a sweetheart encouraging me to get it
done. She took it in hand and did the quilting.

Renew

The wings of HOPE carry us soaring high above
the driving winds of life.
Ana Jacob

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run
and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isa. 40:31

Now And The Past

Fall is on it's way

First the acorns, I have been sweeping them off the walk and porch
for days, so many.
Now the leaves have started, the trees have not changed
color yet, must be to dry not any rain for weeks.
I found a wild morning glory on the fence

The gardener will not like this on his fence.

These were some of my mornings glory's
from the past
So cheerful to look out in the morning and see them.

Can You Name This?

We have a strange growth in our yard.

A big mushroom that I have not seen before,
nice yellow color in side.
It's mate. They are under a Crape Myrtle Tree .
We have no squirrels here, wonder if they would eat it.

So this is what we had Friday at coffee :

Our News Channel 3TV Weather Man, Tim Simpson came and sang
for us.   That night on TV he showed a photo of us and told them who
we are. In case you don't know who we are --We live in a gated community
for the  Independent living. That the Bellevue Church owns.
he sings in the church choir At Bellevue Baptist
We sing Happy Birthday to this sweet lady Helen,
it was her 91st . Her daughter came from Colorado
to celebrate with her.
You are not old until you are 90 here. The oldest is 98.

S.A.L.T

Senior Adults Living Triumphantly
Luncheon

Speaker was John Picarello, Retired NYC Firefighter
A First Responder to the Twin Towers 2001
He shared his miraculous story of survival.

John Picarello on the left

It was fascinating, if you saw it that day on TV
you knew just what it looked like as he talked.
So Sad!

This is Anna, Her Granddaughter was there.
She wanted to hear this to know  just how her
 granddaughter survived. This awful tragedy.

Hope

Be strong and take Heart all you who Hope in the Lord.
Ps. 31:24

Hope fills the afflicted soul with such inward joy and consolation,
that it can laugh while tears are in the eye, sigh and sing all in a
breath.

The Gardener

is still hard at work
 We went from this to
this on the Hibiscus. He has worked so hard he will need a labor day rest.

Hope you can see the red leaves on this Maple Tree.

A sure sign of fall in the air.

Hope it cooled off for you too!
Have a safe and fun  Labor Day week-end

Froggy, Froggy, Goosy, Goosy

 People put strange
 things in their flower beds.
And on their porch , but that is what makes it fun.
