Trivia Monday

One reason one wears a wedding ring on the third finger is that tradition says there is supposed to be a vein which goes directly to the heart-- the seat of love. Not everyone wears their wedding ring on the third finger of the left hand. In some traditions, such as the Jewish one, it is worn on the right hand.

A vein? No kidding! Sweet.
In the Jewish wedding ceremony the groom puts the ring on the bride's index finger. Just for the ceremony. Then she moves it to the ring finger. I never understood why we do that.

Thanks for your invitation for me to move back to Arkansas. I'll be back to visit someday, but my home is here now, near my beloved Jerusalem.
Shalom to you.
