Do You Remember

The Mitford Books?
With Father Tim Kavanagh, I loved these books.

I have been craving old fashion meatloaf like my mother made.
So I got out The Mitford  Cookbook by Jan Karon some old
Southern cooking.
I gave the Bennie the day off, and cooked this, then a White
Butter Cream frosted cake. It was so good.
Two lazy to write it down so here is the photo of what to put in it.
Bake 1 hour take out of oven and put the ketchup on top then back
in the oven for 15 min.
Ok you saute the onions, green peppers, in the veg oil first. then mix all up in big bowl.

Happy Monday!

These cookbooks must have been around for many years, this is the first time I have heard of them.
The meatloaf recipe looks delicious.
Now we need the cake recipe....lol

Yes! We actually bought and read the first book. The recipes remind me of the good home cooking of the past.
