Woe is me

I had read my book and had been reading the Bennie's book, short stories by Louis L'Amour "The Sky -liners and was on the second book" Galloway" It was about 11:00 pm and cold and dark at the back of our house in the trees and hay field. This book is about the Sackett bothers and they do get in to some scary stuff. About that time a pack of coyote came in the field and you never heard the like and about that time I heard the train blow or I would never have know they were there, they hate that train and they try to howl and yap louder. Well until I knew what was happening it scared the heck out of me my hair was standing on end.
My tail of woe gets bigger, sometime it is hard to get any sleep , so I got a late start today. About 1:30 AM the fire alarm went off-- I jumped out of bed then it stopped no fire. The Bennie had put new batteries in them in Oct. so don't know why they went off. I could not go back to sleep thinking maybe a fire in the attic.

Frist I want you to know if you like stories about old days in a young country read this book it is wonderful (I think). It is a ture life novel by Jeannett Walls

Not a good way to start the new year Patsy, being scared like that. I have never figured out why our alarms go off in the middle of the night. I so relate! Hope tonight is more restful.

Sue

That sure makes you uncomfortable when the smoke alarm goes off at night. Those sounds would have made me uneasy. Hope you get some rest today. Looks like a good book too.

I've had that happen with the fire alarm also, Patsy but hub was gone so I had to call the fire dept. Oy! Could have died from embarrassment at 5AM. You just never know.

Love stories like yours, will have to check them out.

Sounds like you were in a wide awake nightmare - how awful! The book though sounds like a good read. Hope you have many hours of sweet restful dreams tonight.

Two weeks ago we had a bad fire a block and a half from me, at one o'clock in the morning and I slept right through it. It was so bad that two or three other fire company were called to come help to get it under control.

The book "Half Broke Horses" is the next book I will be reading after I finish Jane Eyre. I chose Jane Eyre as my book choice of this month.

Dear Patsy, I,m sorry you had such a scare. ....and twice to boot! Your sleepy smiley face says it all! oh dear! I guarantee you I would have been every bit as scared. my family almost need cow bells around their necks to keep from startling me when they come into the same room. It's just how I am....x.we laugh about it. Your 'half broke horses' looks interesting. I'll have to look for it online. Have a nice day.....
