Something to give on Valentines Day

The Bennie got a new Homer Laughlin mug for his coffee

so he had to get Shipley Donuts to try it out.Fun facts about the donut, the shape of the wedding band symbolizes eternal love and happiness. The shape of the donut also symbolizes eternal love and happiness. It is therefore very appropriate to give your sweetie donuts on Valentines Day.

I believe this was made up to sell more donuts don't you :

Shipley's!! I haven't seen those in years. One morning at work, one of the younger warehouse guys was going into the BIG nearby town (where the only Shipley's was) for some supplies.

Our office manager called him in and gave him directions to the donut store as a treat for all of us in the office. Imagine our anticipation, and then the let-down, as he came in with a bag from what we called the "used bread store"---the Hostess/ WonderBread day-old outlet, which was right down the street from Shipley's.

Hope your weather's better!!

PS I just watched a wonderful video from the 1930's on how Homer Laughlin dishes are made. I love my few pieces, which were my Mammaw's.

I have never heard of the name of the mug or the doughnuts but the doughnuts look delicious! And the best part is every day he uses the mug, it will be a continued celebration of his birthday. Hope it was really happy!

Oye...now that is what I need.

If that is the name of the mug...what are the stoneware cup style ones with the green line...like in the old Maxwell house add.

I have some of those! But they are too small for the amount of coffee I drink!
