The Race Is On

to bury as many acorn's  every where they can. They have found a pecan tree some where
that are green and big, we have found them in flower pots. The Bennie went for a long walk in the woods looking for the tree with no luck.

Those little buggers have buried their stashes in all of my flower pots, and plopped my flowers on the ground to do so ;)
I love watching them, but oooh they can be so mischievous !

Don't they make the most interesting little neighbors?

We have quite a drove every year, and they all seem to learn the "Come ON, Dolling!" call when there are nuts or crackers or seeds or even bird food. And pears and apple slices---they go into a frenzy of eating and grabbing. Peanut butter, bought in the immense tubs at Big Lots, on bread from the "used bread store" is their favorite, I think.

Once I put out a Hershey's kiss for one that walked the rail of the high back deck. I wish I'd captured the expression on her face---nobody ever enjoyed chocolate like that.

And our flowerbeds are suddenly sprouting oak trees and quite a nice stand of corn.

Your photography is gorgeous.

Best to you and Mr. The Bennie,

rachel

We enjoy watching the squirrels and chipmunks now that we have a wooded yard again. No pecans here but we do have lots of acorns.

Have a happy weekend.

Those little rascals! Pretty to watch though and so industrious.

They steal our pecans so fast we don't get any.

Funny that the tree cannot be located because you wouldn't think the squirrels would travel far with their stash. Good pics.
