The Bennie is in the Kitchen Again

His Buttermilk Chess Pie

1-lg unbaked pie shell
3-tbsp. flour
1 1/2-cup + 1 tbsp. sugar
1-stick butter
3-eggs
Pinch salt
1/2 cups buttermilk
1-2 lemons (3-6 tbsp. lemon juice)
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Prick the bottom of an unbaked pie shell with fork and rub mixture of 1 tablespoon flour and 1 tablespoon sugar into holes.
(this keeps you from having a soggy pie.

Blend 2 tablespoons flour  and 1 1/2 cups sugar. Melt butter slowly. Beat eggs. Add sugar and flour to eggs; beat. Add butter and beat. Add salt. Add buttermilk and mix; add lemon juice and vanilla and blend well. Pour into pastry shell and bake at 300 degrees for 50-60 minutes.

So Good!

It looks like a very good recipe. I didn't know what would be in a pie like that but the ingredients I bet makes it taste great.

This is a favorite pie of mine and my brother's. One year for Father's Day, his daughter baked one for him!!!

What a sweet man. My husband can heat up food in a microwave. He would like that pie. The only kind of pie I really like is apple.
