oh yes, all lilies have seed...can just take up to for years to flower and then the flowers might not be true to the parent plant because of so much cross pollination. The only way to make sure you get the exact bloom is by bulb division. I think it's great to be surprised though. Your lizzie is a skink..we have tons of them, they are beneficail although I consider them snakes with legs!
I just recently watched a garden show that showed how you could save clematis seeds. The guy did say that you would get a variety of colors from the seed. I didn't ever notice my Stella have seeds. Good to know.
I love Stella de Oros,I need to remember to gather the seed ! Yours look so much prettier than mine, I think my lily needs to be dug up, divided and replanted, maybe this fall. ~smile~ Enjoy your weekend. Hugs, Sue
I didn't know they had seeds either, I've learned something new today....thank you ! I would mistake Lizzie for a snake, and probably not garden again :) ~Jo
I am with Darla we have snakes almost that color. Carrel says they are good snakes. He will not kill them he says they are good snakes, I say the only good snakes are dead snakes. I cut my lilies off when they bloom, takes too much strength out of them to seed. But it was good to learn something from you. That is one reason I read other people's blogs.

Hi Patsy, I love your daylily. Lizzie would be good entertainment for my cats as they sit "behind" the window screen!
Came upon you blog today. What a delight!!♥

The first thing I thought...does Lizzie bite or anything? That is interesting about the seeds....I think I've noticed seed pods come to think of it.
I didn't know that either. I will have to check my lilies out. Now, Lizzie might be cute from a distance but I don't like anything that crawls.
You will have to plant them Patsy. I think everyone has plants are suffering this year. The blooms are beautiful.
Each of these flowers in gold or orange, but since they may be available in other colors make sure to look at the tags when you purchase them.

Day Lillie seeds do very well but they take about 4 years to flower.
