The Butterflies and I

are going to miss the Zinnias, they had to be pulled up from the garden. I didn't know that they are susceptible to Powdery Mildew or mold. A first for me.
I had planted the seeds from last year in the same spot for the past three years.
So I will let the ground rest this summer.
I am not happy with the Pink Fountain Gaura flower I put in last year.
It just lay flat on the ground and the flowers don't wave in the breeze.
But on a happy note I will have other blooms coming soon and a new plant to enjoy.

Beautiful butterfly photo. Sorry about your Zinnias, but honestly I think powdery mildew is hitting everyone a little because of the extreme heat hitting while so many things were still so young and tender. Hope this helps with the problem for next year though.

Zinnias are so cheerful...till they get 'fade-y' or mildew...

Some of them do get mildew. I am sorry you had to pull them. I usually try and a fungicide first to see if it takes care of it. That is a beautiful picture of the butterfly Patsy.
