Today in History

on this day in 1860, the first Pony Express mail, traveling by horse and rider relay teams, simultaneously leaves St Joseph Missouri, and Sacramento, California.
Ten days later on April 13, the west bound rider and mail packet completed the approximately 1,800 miles journey and arrived in Sacramento beating the east bound packet's arrival in St Joseph by two days.

Hi Patsy,
I have always found the pony express riders amazing too. And thought of their dedication. Thanks for sharing.
Many blessings this Easter,

Sue

That's brilliant! They must have had hard lives and the poor horses too.

Happy Easter
