Today in 1969

Best Actress Oscar went to Barbara Streisand for Funny Girl:
She and Katharine Hepburn of The Lion in Winter received 3,030 votes each so it was a tie.

Katharine Hepburn was a no show at the April 14 1969 ceremony Awards. So emotional Barbara Streisand stole the moment.
