Help

Whole limbs are falling off
They did that before it bloomed ,now after it is in bloom. I can't grow violets once they bloom , never again to they bloom for me.

Sense and Nonsense In Poetry By Willis L. Tackette

Now that "Thanky Day" is over and we've eaten all the clover, and we've cleaned up all that's in the pot. We will have to start all over, and feed the bones to Rover and hunt around the place for what is not.
Now the turkey was not big, neither was the roasted pig. But the trimmings were piled up high and wide. Each one tried to eat the "mostest", just to please our gentle hostess.
But it was awful how I felt, trying to tighten up my belt for it seemed there was no room in my tummy. For I had crammed so much of turkey, pig and other such, that I realized that I should be more roomy.
But if I always had my way, I'd do the same another day, and maybe so the Doc I'd have to call; and he'd likely call me down and say I'd made myself a clown, and that I should eat no more until next spring.

Dinner With The Family

Just to have dinner back then was a blessing
The cake was the best part for my children in the 1950's
We had so much good food today and of course we ate to much.

Happy Thanksgiving

What shall I render unto the Lord for all His benefits toward me?
Aye, good man, close the great barn door;
The mellow harvest time is o'er,
The earth has given her treasure meet
Of golden corn and bearded wheat.
Ring out the words, Who of his hoard
Doth help God's poor, doth lend the Lord!''
Go, get your cargoes under way--
The bells ring out Thanksgiving Day!

Little Things

Little words in love expressed
Little wrongs at once confessed,
Little graces meekly worn,
Little slights with patience borne,
These are treasures that shall rise
Far beyond the shining skies. Unknown

It is the little words you speak, the little thoughts you think, the little things you do or leave undone, the little moments you waste or use wisely, the little temptations which you yield to or overcome--the little things of every day that are making or marring your future life.

Many still bow their heads in remembrance of the 11 hour of the 11 day of the 11 month. When World War I ceased.
