OMG! I haven't a clue unless you are over watering them........this type of cactus has been quite the challenge for me as well....I think we don't ignore them enough.
I would try cutting back the water, but increasing the humidity around it. Try placing it on a tray filled with pebbles. Don't let it sit in the water though.
Sometimes they don't like it if they are moved to another spot. Picky little things aren't they.

Patsy ~ Water (too much) is usually the culprit. They like drier soil not soaked nor sitting in it & sun/
