Sweet Smell

They worked fast to get the hay raked and in rolls before the storm. We got the fast moving rain after dark. The hay was safe and the field was clean and dotted with big rolls.

Nothing like the sweet smell of freshly cut hay.
I am seeing these large round bales of hay everywhere, I hardly ever see the conventional square bales any longer. Must be a money saving thing.
Your so lucky to have them in your back pasture, smelling that lovely sweetness all day long !

Good Morning, hope all is well with you. I always enjoy your blog. I saw Frank last week and told him how much I miss his blog. He and Cloody were at a supper here in the village.

Have a Blessed Day.

I love farming scenes. One day we saw this exquisitely dotted hill covered in bales of hay ... snapped that breathtaking pics. Got home, downloaded & it just didn't capture the essence of beauty our eyes viewed. TY for sharing. TTFN ~ Marydon

It does have the sweetest smell. I use to hate throwing the square bales onto the wagon though. It was always on the hottest days ;-)

I can smell it as I sit at my desk. Love the smell of the hayfields.

Hi Patsy,

They have been working hard getting the hay up around here as well. We also got rain and storms last night, and more today, and more coming for a couple of days. At least, the tomatoes, still doing well in the garden, appreciate the rain. And I appreciate the tomatoes!

Happy Wednesday!

There is nothing nicer and more evocative of childhood summers than the smell of new mown hay. Cal
