Tomatoes

I toasted the bread to a golden brown, slivered the salad dressing thick on both pieces of toast, lay ed a green leaf of lettuce on both then sliced my vine ripe from the garden tomato in thick slices put the bacon in place put the top toast on and when I bite in to my BLT the juice from the tomato and the salad dressing mingled and the tangy taste took me back to my grandmothers kitchen on the farm in the good old summer time.

I think my tomato plant is done for the season. This heatwave has "fried" it.

It's a good thing I made and ate my first BLT of the season last night before reading your post, otherwise this wonderful post would have made me go searching through the neighbor's garden this morning for a vine ripe tomato. BLTs are eaten for breakfast, lunch or supper in my family.

Oh, I cannot wait until my tomatoes get ripe. ;-) I really like BLT's. My mom eats a butter bread and sliced tomato sandwich all the time. I like bacon with mine.
