The author of the Irish books is Patrick Taylor. The first book in the series is An Irish Country Doctor....very good. On the internet, type in An Irish Country Doctor and look at the web site. There is a clip of the Irish village which inspired the books.
Another series I think you would enjoy if you have not already read them is Joan Medicott's books. The first in a series of nine books is The Ladies of Coventon send their Love, There are seven books in this series. Joan Medicott also has a web site.
