All that's missing from this story is the Vicks Salve. Can't you just smell that sharp old nose-filling aroma, like a menthol/eucalyptus cloud in the house and your clothes that seems to outlast the cold.
But your appliances look like beautiful pieces of medical art---the blue and the white are restful even without all the soothing effects.

Have to say I've never seen these before. I thought Alma Selmer was for stomach problems until I saw it was for colds.
