What a pretty pool. Bennie's pies look so good. Mama and I used to pick up pecans in the yard of the home I grew up in. She would use the pecans for all holiday desserts. Happy Thanksgiving. Love you.

All pies are my favorite but that pecan pie looks wonderful. I bet it tastes really good too. We are having mince meat this year.

What a lovely way to spend the day which was always such a frenzy of preparation and cooking and getting-ready! I can't get over all Mr. The Bennie's culinary talents---you have mentioned them from time to time, but NOW---what a chef he's turned out to be, and what a marvel that beautiful pie is!

Caro just called down from her kitchen upstairs to see if I had Mother's KAY-RO Pecan Pie recipe handy (the way it was always pronounced) and I went straight to the cookbook I keep that one slip of paper safely stashed in and gave it to her to copy. And I didn't know til I inherited that whole recipe drawer of clippings and cards and things out of magazines and all the hand-written recipes on notebook paper, that there is 1/8 t. of cinnamon in it. You certainly can't taste it, and it never crossed my mind.

You enjoy that glorious pie and all your good company, and we'll be having our celebration on Sunday. Four of our Kiddos left yesterday after several days' visit, and we're taking the day of rest between celebrations. I've got a pot roast up in Caro's new oven, perfuming the air, and supper will be simple and Thankful and quiet, I think.

I wish you both a wonderful celebration!
