Reelfoot Lake State Park

There is abundant plant life this is called Butter wort plant
Home to the Golden and American Bald eagles.

Also many diffident birds, this is a Heron that nest on the lake

My great great grand father came here in the early 1840's to farm in the rich soil that the Mississippi river left after the 1811-1812 New Madrid Earthquake. His grandson my grandfather help to save the Lake and preserve it as a state park in the early 1900's

Wow, isn't that heron just beautiful? Gorgeous white feathers and tufts on its head. What a wonderful history of your family and the legacy they helped to preserve.
