I know Spring is here

because I went out in the back and the Peepers were singing. We have an old pond in the woods next to the hay field where they had cattle at one time. That is where snakes and those bad
mosquitoes come from. Oh! dear I had forgotten about the mosquitoes. The Bennie said he saw one yesterday.
This is a camouflaged peeper

This is a climbing peeper: they are small 1 inch long. Spring Peepers make up for there diminutive size by emitting a high-pitched, loud, piercing call. Males are the only ones to vocalize the vocalization is intended to entice females to breeding ponds and select a particular male.

You just can't have Spring with out the bugs and other things and have just flowers.

You are so right. I just haven't thought of those pesky little creatures. Mosquitos are very bad here.

Interesting frogs.

Do you want some poppies. I can send you some. Anything else you might want? I have been blessed with an abundance of seeds from fellow bloggers.

I use to love to hear the peepers when it warmed up.Since we moved upon the hill out of the hollows I do not hear any now. What is that old adage about them looking through glass? (Ice) Grandma use to say it every spring when they sung but I cannot remember it now. Some days I miss my mind so much LOL!

Yes, the peepers have been singing for several days now at my pond. I can hear them now, as I sit at the laptop. I love to hear them! And my jonquils are blooming, too! It was 74 today and sunny, but spring brings storms too, and we're under a severe storm watch for tonight. Every season has good and bad sides, doesn't it? I think Jonesboro is also under the watch. Keep safe, Patsy!

Hugs,

Renie

G'eve sweet Patsy ~ How are you doing? Ummmm, there is a critter on your post! My crocus bloomed amongst the snows. Pollen is terrible & allergies are tearing me up horribly.

Sorry about missing you but the painting is done at home & still working on the other house ... a couple weeks of painting & decorating to go ... love it!
Hugs, Marydon

I've been hearing strange noises in the woods and now wonder if it frog mating calls ?
We are to have 72 degrees today, wouldn't you know it's the day we chose to sit inside a movie theater !
