All I was doing was making tea
I put the water on to boil
Walked off and sat down to my blog
Now The Bennie is showing me how to boil water out side.
It could have been a very bad thing if I had not smelled the pan after it went dry.
From now on that whistling kettle is the way I will boil water.

Patsy, I have done the same thing....more than once I'm afraid. Good thing you smelled it! It made for a cute post though...grin.
It is so easy to lose track of time when we are on these blogging pages. It feels like minutes and an hour has past by. I am glad you smelled it. A singing tea kettle sound like the answer.
Yes it could have been a very bad thing but fortunately it wasn't. I have done this same thing and I'm sure most of us have. The singing tea kettle sounds like a nice idea. Have a very Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Patsy,
What a clever post...I always like the pictures as I am regressing back to reading by pictures.
I got my wireless hooked up and can now surf the net from the comfort of my recliner with my Netbook. The screen is smaller, but I really enjoy it.
Have a great Christmas...Charlene
Patsy: I was having the same trouble. I would get distracted by the pets etc. so I went to Target and bought an AROMA brand electric water kettle & tea brewer for about $20. It boils the water super quick and shuts itself off once the water boils. I LOVE IT!!!
I sure am glad to know I am not alone.
I don't hear the whistling tea kettle from the back of my house. Long ago I started using an electric tea kettle that automatically shuts off. Now when I forget it, my house is safe from my tea kettle forgetfulness!! Which, by the way, can be several times a day!
It is a good thing you still have your sense of smell! I am always forgetting to turn the oven off..it cooks nothing sometimes for several Hours. Merry Christmas! :)
Nothing like a whistling kettle to make you jump out of your chair.... and your skin. Glad it wasn't worse. Hope your Christmas was filled with love.
