Hi Patsy,
Just love those butterflies. I try to plant all kinds of plants hoping to attract these. Thank you for sharing. I have seen a lot of different ones while out and about today.

Beautiful pictures, Patsy, and interesting information. The butterfly weed is now blooming and I took pictures of a butterfly on it, just today. A fritilary, or something like that. I don't know the correct spelling, but will look it up. I have lots os sassafras. I believe the dark swallowtail lays it's eggs on the leaves of the sassafras.

Anyway, I enjoyed the pictures and post. Hope you're keeping cool! We got to 93 today.

Hugs,

Renie

Beautiful photos and great info! My hubby has been trying very hard to attract butterflies and has a few of the plants you mentioned above - but I think he should get some milkweed too!

How pretty !
We have two butterfly bushes and they literally come alive when the blooms are full...
I have always loved butterflies even as a young girl, I was never aware there are so many varieties.
Thanks for the wonderful information.
