The house is in Salem Mass.It was built 1669 and in 1782 was sold to a family of the Hawthorne's.
the story is about the people that lived in the house up to 1913.

Oh no! Is that where the Salem Witch Trials were?

I have an old copy of "House of the Seven Gables" as well, Patsy. I found it at a Flea Market several years ago. It's on my book shelf to this day. I would tell Shellmo it's a great book and a wonderful read.

A dreary, overcast, cool day today. I would like to see some sunshine already!

Hugs,

Renie

I loved the movie but haven't read the book. That old book is quite a treasure.

The old book is so neat. Just think of all the people who have read it. It is a beautiful day in the village. I could almost smell Bennie's cake. The pictures are great.

Yes, I read that and loved it! When you are done reading it you feel so sad to say goodbye to the people in the story. They are someone you have come to know well and understand. I hope I'm thinking of the right story but think I am!
