Apple's and more

He put a 1/2 cup of walnuts in with the raisins and no brandy.





His apple butter



We like to get our apple's from and old Flippen family orchard that has been in our family for a 100 years in Tennessee. The Bennie makes his apple butter and a pie from and old recipe that comes from ( The Diary of Gladys Taber Dec 1946 ) The recipe is call James L. Thomas Apple Pie. Pastry 1 package cream cheese 1/2 cup butter, one




cup of flour. Put cheese and butter out and let stand




until soft, then mix lightly into flour with finger tips




until blended, from ball and refrigerate for 20 min.,




roll out , for filling use 6 med tart apples 1 cup sugar




1/2 teaspoon cinnamon ,1/4 cup raisins, butter the




butter the size of a walnut and the juice of 1 lemon.




Slice apples ,mix with sugar, cinnamon, raisins,




butter pour lemon juice and 1 jigger of brandy(which




can be left out) put in crust with no top bake 350




until crusty and apples are tender.
