Our Village Cherry Tree

We had up to 50 mile an hour wind gust from Ike and our power was out for about 3 hours and we live on the Arkansas Missouri line. That was some hurricane winds to come up this far. These are pictures of one of two Cherry Trees in our back yard. They are old and so lovely and pink in the spring.

Very old family cook books

Most of these books were my mothers and her mothers. They date from 1925, 1926, 1932 and the 1940's The Bennie ask for cookie's yesterday so I got lost in the old book's. Came back to the present out of the past and made these Oatmeal Cranberry Walnut cookies.

Deplorable Behavior

Mr. Pattypat( rabbit) came to see me yesterday. He was not happy about the neighborhood. Mr.Pattypat said that Mr.Red ( squirrel) ate his flowers and broke one of his flower pots. Someone knocked so hard on his door they broke the door knocker and he found it on the ground. You just can't leave your home unattended anymore are your door open Mr. Pattypat was over at our village friend Sherry's last night and Mr. possum was peeping in her back door. I told him I will talk to Mr. Red about his deplorable behavior and try to fix all that was broken.

My village friend Charlene sadly has stop quilting but good for me, she gave these quilt staples to me. Thank you Charlene.

My Day

Is very dull today went to post office and Kroger's. The bright spot is reading others blogs.
