Spring

Has come in my window, some time back when I was cleaning up the flowerbed and putting in bulbs for spring. I took one and put rocks in a old glass with a little water.

and the smell of spring is in my window.

This book was given to me by my secret pal for my birthday , who was Charlene at the Village.

I got it out to look at the binding tips.

It's so much fun to go through the pages and think I should do this and that.

Out With The Old

And in with the new: A new book to read

Did you know that the Irish go in the front door and out the back in order to have good luck.

In Mexico they carry their suitcases around the block. In Venezuela they carry theirs around the house. Both practices involve wishing to travel.

The Spaniards celebrate the New Year by waiting until midnight and everybody has to have 12 grapes ready to eat when the clock starts to chime.

Quilting and Working Hard

to over come being swept away with grieve. At my age it is only a sure thing that life deals you . So many of my family are leaving me, because of death. When I retired my work was to do ancestry for all the family's of my mother and father, which I knew little about. It has been a wonderful trip back in time. It has taken 4 years and many new cousins I now have a great friendship with. I am now having to add my only son ,my only sister and as you know a dear aunt. There has been calls that the 100 year old sister of my father is ready to go and two of her sons that or near my age have been told they have only months to live. Adding these family members to my ancestry pages is being very emotional. When I started this never did I think about my close family being added. With Gods word to comfort me I will keep the joy and peace of his love in me. Thanks to this blog I can put my thoughts in words, and share my pain. I have had a difficult time getting this quilt this far, now to do the binding. All I can think about is what to do next for a new quilt.

He's Back

Last year on January 25 2009 this beautiful bird came for a visit. It is a Rufous-Sided Towee or Eastern Towee

and today January 8 2010 he is back. His call sounds like Drink your teeee. enlarge picture to see him looking for sunflower seeds.
Ok I need to get a life: but I get a kick out of seeing these birds.
