Never Desecrate A Grave

This was my great great great grandfather
He was the only one in the Union Army of
the American Civil War in our fathers family.
My mothers family were in the Confederate
He died for what he believed
He was also before the Civil War in  the War of 1846 with
Mexico his wife got a pension of service.
I have all the Military records of both wars and they are very
detailed.
This is his grave in the center Payton Alexander
This is General Nathen Bedford Forrest of the Confederate Army
This is his and wife's grave
This is history and the city took him and his horse down. I would say
it was desecrated, they are now going to dig them up , that will not change history.
He died for what he believed.

Let me tell you a little about this war that Alexander and Forrest happened
to cross paths.
My GGG Grandfather was at Fort Pillow On the Mississippi River in
West Tennessee.  There were total white troops 295 and 262 of colored troops.

Forrest's Expedition was in to West Tennessee and Kentucky came across
this First Battalion, Thirteenth Tennessee Cavalry.
Killed all but a few officers. They took them  to Andersonville Georgia or called
Camp Sumter a Confederate  military prison.
That is where my ggg grandfather died from much suffering.

It was War and they both did what they did for  White and Black to live the good life.
The Monument should not have been removed.

You cannot change history by taking down a monument...I think it is sad that many are being removed. :(

That is really sad. Civil wars are the saddest of all I think. Why on earth are they taking down?

It is wonderful that you have all the knowledge you have of your family.

You have a wonderful family history. I agree that they should not take down the monuments - they are part of history!
