That is very sad for the young couple. 2 homes ago, we had a landscaper to install a French drain system to take water/rain out of the back yard. It worked very well.
Pretty sunflower!

Oh my gosh! This kind of thing is nothing to fool around with! Just glad it fell on the house instead of him!

Yes trees don't like to tell you where they are going to land. They have weight that could be shifted and send it against you chosen fall. I have sunflowers, that I planted, that are about eight inches tall. They will grow fast once their roots get established.

Falling trees are so dangerous. I wish people wouldn't try to do this on their own. We had a friend many years ago who thought he'd just toppled a large pine in the back yard and it would fall where he wanted it too. Nope. Killed him dead. He left a young wife and three small children behind. That young couple are lucky it was only the house. It can be repaired.

My Giant Sunflowers are blooming now. They look so pretty! Guess I need to stick to flowers and leave the veggie's to the pro's. *ha ha* ~:)

Oh! Dear! Surely the trees would help to drain the plot.
