Under attack

We have been eating tomato's from our three plants (so good):
Then I saw big black balls under the hanging plant:

It took some time to fine why:

Killer tomato worms there were 4 on the plant about 2 to 4 inches long, ugly. They had eaten a bunch of the leaves and half of a green tomato. Funny they don't eat ripe tomato. They ARE NO MORE they went to moth or worm haven.

We've had to spray our veggie plants a few times to get rid of bugs. Your tomatoes look great!

Those tomatoes look delicious. You must get so much more sun than we do. Mine are just flowering!

Are they caterpillars?

Those make me laugh, because I remember one year at the garden center, a customer brought one in. Of course, no one here had ever seen them in real life before. This is the frozen north! We kept it in a jar for the day, and made all the prissy customers scream when we showed it to them.

LOL. Really, they screamed! Most of the real gardeners just were facinated by seeing something we had never encountered before. And yes, they are voracious eaters.
