North and South Meet

This came from a old pond behind or house the north. A water moccaSIN snake.
We found out the old pond that watered the cows is to the right on photo in back of the trees and it is all grown up in weeds and old fallen tree limbs.

This is the south and front of the house, it looked like this when we moved here in December.

This is the front now and the snake was behind that house they are framing on the right of the photo. The workers killed the bad bad snake. We will not go out this summer with out looking at ever step we take. I still love looking at the north of my house which is in the county the front is city, but I will not go out side after dark in the back , county or city. There are no houses on the east or west side of us yet. The Bennie said they will not clean the old pond out because the county could care less about old snakes.

Oooh and I thought my little six inch Garter snake was bad.
That snake was HUGE and poisonous, not a nice fella to run up on !

We have lots of rabbits and they say he is looking to eat them, and anything else , THERE ARE MORE OUT THERE.

Snakes are creepy...we had a baby one wiggling itself down between our front steps and the foundation. It gives me the creeps every time I think of it. Oh yes, and our son said there was a large snake sunning itself last summer right below our back porch steps. We bought some snake repellent powder and I sprinkled it around the house. Its time to do that again. We are very near an open creek but why do they leave the water? I am still happily spinning, and have finished the scarf and have started one for my daughter. The Homer Laughlin factory and outlet is in Newell WV. They have a nice website at homerlaughlin dot com.

Oh, my, that's a mean one for sure, Patsy! I have seen them in the river, but none in my pond. However we do have copperheads, and I have seen them. Like you, I stay inside after dark. Never know what's lurking out there at night. Good shot of that water moccasin!

Have a great weekend.

Hugs,

Renie

Just catching up with you. Good to see how well the garden has grown since you moved and no more snakes I hope.

Interesting to see our Queen being shown so far away in Arkansaw. she looked just like that when she visited our town but was dressed in blue. Reminded me of my Aunt.
