The Squirrel Came Back

 The other day I was looking at my little spot of garden 

when he just came up to me. I was very surprised.

Knew it had to be him ,squirrels do not do that they run

away. I went to the door and called The Bennie, he came 

out with pecans. The squirrel was happy to see him.

Bennie said his food supply is not good this time of

the year so he knew The Bennie was good for some nuts.

 My Iris. This was Aunt Minnie

I was given this one when we went to fine Aunt Minnie's

grave, The lady that had the records gave it to me.

The Cloody

This one was Frank, They gave these to me when we moved.

Frank and Cloody moved to Texas then we moved to Tenn.

Interstate 40 going to Memphis or come from Nashville.

As you can see we sit on a hill.

Out To Lunch

With the ladies

The men didn't like the choice, they didn't go with us

on the bus. It is a lunch treat they take us on here at the

senior living community once a month.

It is a new place to us ladies, the grandson loves the place

so I went along. It is fast food I had  fried  chicken on

a bun with cold slaw  and a milk shake. Yum it was good.

No luck with the distressing flower eating Vole

OK The Bennie is taking a nap so back to my book 

"Houston" We Have a Problem

I had put a row of pansies where the pink heaths is now blooming.

The Pansies full grown started to  disappear only a hole would
be left.

This is a rodent a VOLE  is the problem,it takes the 

flowers down that hole and eats the roots.

The gardener puts a heavy mulch in the beds every spring

that is what they like roots and bark.

The solution is poison  gas pumped in the holes or mouse traps
with peanut butter on them. They come out at night.
We will try five traps if this fails the gardener will  have to make
that other call.
In all my years of having gardens never ever had this problem
in Texas , Ark , or Tennessee.

New Friends

From the church

took us on a trip to the country.

First stop a  lunch treat.

We had not been there in years.

 After Lunch they took us to see where their new home

is going to be. It will be where the down trees are.

 this will be the long road to the house

 We took a long walk around the 30 acres

to a pond

Then back thru the woods.

It Moved Out Fast

very little rain, it is very cold now but will warm up

as the day goes on.

 It is a very bright sunshine day

 In life that is the way it is after a storm.

My heart is with those who did get damage.

Tornado

Weather is here!

We are in for high winds, and much rain it is

coming from Texas, Oklahoma going up and

spreading out.

The Gardener

 Does work to make our  place   nice ,

see the one pink bloom?

As we came out of the club house after coffee , some of the lady's 

were thinking they were to take a plant home with them that were

around the bottom of the planter.

Some of us said "NO"

Funny how some people are they take cake, donuts anything

home to eat later. At potluck they tell me some even hoard food

and bring containers like it is a carry -out.

We do not go to potluck I like to know what a persons Kitchen 

looks like before I eat their food.
