Thanks

to Mildred and some others:
We now know it is a "Helleborous--Lenten Rose

Some time call the Christmas Rose. I pass the walkway often
but had not seen it ,could have thought it was a green  weed
before it bloomed.
How nice to see , they even say it can be seen blooming  in snow.

That is very interesting. Nice to see the very first signs that spring will come again soon!

Good Morning Patsy, What a pretty flower especially for winter. We had a sunny day yesterday and temps. Close to 60 this morning back to the low 30's with gloomy clouds. I am so ready for sunshine and flowers.

Hallo from Holland. We call this flower a lenteroos ( spring rose). Helleborus orientalis isn't it? I love to see it. Spring is coming soon :-)

I have seen on blogs the Hellebores but they probably will never grow in my garden. It is beautiful. I like how everyone pulls together to identify things. I have a new backyard we are moving to and I know things will be coming up that will be surprises. The former owners are gardeners so we will like the place for sure.
