Oh, Miss Patsy!! Was he YOURS? In the way of things, they belong to us all, to be remembered and honored and respected.
We just remarked this morning that it was the 75th Anniversary. Everyone used to "remember" where they were when they heard the news, but now it's a smaller and smaller group who hold it in living memory.
It had to be a tough time for the parents and family loosing him on that boat. My dad was born a year later and he was at the battle of the bulge. His survival was amazing as he carried a radio on the front lines and with scouts in front of the front lines.
