Going green

Use Tupperware not plastic wrap because it is made from fossil fuels.

Bring water to a boil with lid on ,save hours of energy.

Use a pressure cooker it cooks fast and you save enegy.

Family Reunion

now you talk about fun. I went to a big family reunion deep in the heart of Arkansas.

Turner family of my grandfather's two Green Sisters . The best joke going was for the Turners to come up to our table and ask is this the Green table and we all said yes. They would say well the table looks brown to me. HA HA .

Been Sewn

Think I will make all the girls a Christmas apron.

I Love Meat Pie's

We will start with these Pudding Basin bowls from John Lewis , Baking Accessories web site.

I do love these meat -pies from Natchitoches.

To day we have a a modern version of the an ancient meat-pie pudding.

Grate some suet (beef fat). Rub it into flour and add enough water to make a dough. Line the inside of a heat-proof bowl with this. (or substitute a modern pie crust dough!) Put a mixture of cooked meat and chopped onions into the middle. Place a layer of dough over the top of the meat mix and seal tightly all around the edges where it meets the side layer of dough. Wrap bowl and all in a pudding cloth, Also called muslin boiling cloth. Lower into a big pan of boiling water and cook until done.
