Hi Patsy, I will guess 1890 to 1910 ..do you know when either of the people were born? The lady on the right looks older..maybe 40 or 50. The lady on the left younger..are they related? Sometimes knowing when the people were born helps to date a photo. Thank looks like quite a house!! :)
That's a great photo. Nobody said "cheese"! The expressions on photos were always so serious in those days. Life must have been quite serious too I imagine.
I am no expert, but it is very similar to some I have of relatives that date from about 1880-90.
ReplyDeleteI haven't a clue. I do love it though..
ReplyDeleteCertainly looks like an old homesteading picture, dating back to the late 1800's. It holds a lifetime of history, by the looks of it.

ReplyDeleteI would agree w/ Mildred. Plus the ladies clothing in those photos look similar to historic photos I have of my area. love the log cabin of course!!
ReplyDeleteThe family was in the 1880 census and this woman was not. She could have been born 1848-52.
ReplyDeleteIf it was 1910 and she looks like 40 she could be born around 1850. She had a sister born in 1846 , a sister no date then a sister born in 1853.
ReplyDeleteHi Patsy,Wish I could help, but can't. I do love old photos though. Oh! my the stories they could tell!

Its a very interesting picture....such modest clothing and proper posture. Character. Perseverance. Small waists. It tells so much.
ReplyDeleteI love old photos also. Sad to realize that so many of them never will be able to tell their story.
