Cards With A Past

Do you save cards that your family and children gave or sent you? I have for years and had a big box of them as far back as 1976. After doing ATC'S (Artist Trading Cards) for other people it came to me that would be a good way to save my cards. Here is my book and how I did it.
Enlarge for better view This is the back of cards

This is the front

This is how I start: I look at the focal point of the card and what the caption is.

Then I look at the in side and the signature: This card was 2007 Red Hat secret pal card. Later I found out it was Charlene from the Village.

now cut the card

these cards are 2 1/2 by 3 1/2

start to cut and paste

The verse is cut up and placed on the back of the card

Date the card and you have the card a memory for ever.

Want my children and grandchildren be surprised years from now that there cards were saved.

We my get much needed rain today;
You-all have a good and happy day

Safe

I've anchored my soul in haven of rest, I'll sail the wide seas no more; The tempest may sweep o'er the wild stormy deep, In Jesus I'm safe ever more.
My son Steven ,my mother and oldest daughter Donna in 1991. The picture was taken on my mothers birthday she was in assisted living because she had Alzheimer. All of the family came my daughter had come from Texas. The next day her doctor called and said they got back test and she should come for more testing they had found cancer of the thyroid, to this day she is cancer free and doing well. Mother died in 2003 on the 16 of June and 18 years later on his grandmothers birthday June 23 Steven died one year ago today. Steven was 51 years old.

Summer Time, Summer Time

The longest day ,2010 nears the halfway point today. June 21 is the summer solstice, the longest day and shortest night of the year in the northern hemisphere. At 7:28 a.m. the sun is as far north as it's going to come.
It's time to picnic

Day-lily Du Jour

I wish I knew the names of the Lily's but do not.
The paper said annual tour: Sorry to say I was very disappointed the yard was very unkempt. Some had name tags most didn't.

There were some very lovely Lily's that were in bloom. This was at the old home of the president of Northeast Arkansas Day-lily Society. This lady needed help in her garden bad.

She was asking 5.00 a root The paper said there were 300 registered day lily and approximately 200 seed- lings Which I did not see. The ones in pots were died or dieing.
There were about 6 lady's taking up all of her time as she pulled hole clumps up and gave them what they wanted. Others were sitting waiting to pay.
It was about 96 in the shade so we left. (I may go back later?)

Plant's from Darla and Becca

Darla from More Family and Flower's sent the Cleome seeds and they were not planted in this spot but that is okay I was so happy to see them in with the Poppies that Bacca from A Southern Garden By Becca sent. Sometime flowers just don't like where you think they should go.
I have been looking for the Poppies to show there self for sometime and had given up on them.

This book The Ultimate Container Gardener was given to me for Christmas in 1998

it has been a great guide for my projects with step by step techniques and selecting plants for my containers

Growing Your Favorite Plants book has help me identity lots of plants and the information about many flowers.

Be a Realistic Optimist:

The Bennie said you can't carry those rocks--------well I don't guess I can so there goes my rock garden------I am going to get me a new book to read.

How about the new Glenn Beck book The Overton Window
